Administration and governance of schools in Turkey have a complex structure and process. Within the centralized structure, the procedures in educational activities are managed by school principals. In the Turkish literature, there are studies showing leadership styles of school leaders based on the leadership theories borrowed from different contexts. Furthermore, these leadership styles are linked to school outcomes like academic achievement and teacher motivation. Thus, catching compatible sides of leadership theories may serve to improve this kind of school outcomes. In these respects, the current study aimed to investigate which leadership styles have more effect on academic achievement and teacher motivation. Exclusion and inclusion criteria were determined in order to identify the studies to be analyzed. A meta-analysis study including 21 studies in Turkish context was conducted to achieve the purpose of the study. The meta-analysis results showed that the leadership styles were highly related with the school outcomes. Overall, laissez-faire, transactional, instructional, and transformational leadership styles had a high and positive relation with the school outcomes. The laissez-faire and spiritual leadership styles showed more effect on the teacher motivation while the positive and transformational style had more effect on the academic achievement. Considering the conclusions of the study, it is recommended that future studies develop a leadership theory specific to the educational settings in Turkey.

Bu araştırmada ilkokul yöneticilerinin görüşleri doğrultusunda sınıf öğretmenlerinin otantik liderlik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca yönelik olarak çalışma grubu, 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında Balıkesir iline bağlı Bandırma ilçesindeki ilkokul yöneticileri olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmış, alınan izinler doğrultusunda okul yöneticileri ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Araştırma verilerini toplamak amacıyla uzman görüşleri alınarak hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme ve gözlem formu kullanılmıştır. Katılımcılardan elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamına aktarılmış ve MAXQDA 2022 paket programı kullanılarak içerik analizi tekniği ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre sınıf öğretmenlerinin otantik liderlik özelliklerine yüksek seviyede sahip oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Okul yöneticilerine göre sınıf öğretmenlerinin en çok sahip olduğu otantik liderlik bileşeninin ilişkisel şeffaflık olduğu, sınıf öğretmenlerinden en çok bekledikleri otantik liderlik özelliğinin öz farkındalık ve öz denetim olduğu, sınıf öğretmenlerinin otantik liderlik özelliklerine sahip olmalarının eğitimi ve toplumu olumlu yönde etkileyeceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This research is done by aiming to determine the relationship between the levels of organizational virtues and job satisfaction of teachers. This research in which 298 teachers, who are working in primary and secondary schools of Trabzon province, participated is done by using relational scanning model. "Organizational Virtuousness Scale" and "Job Satisfaction Scale" scale were used to collect data in the study. The t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation and multiple linear regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data obtained from the research. According to the results of the research, teachers' perception of organizational virtuousness and job satisfaction is high. While the perceptions of organizational virtuousness differed significantly according to gender variables; age, years of service and school level. However, the level of job satisfaction of teachers did not show any significant difference in terms of gender, age, service years and school level variables. There is a moderately significant positive relationship between teachers' organizational virtuousness perceptions and job satisfaction levels. Moreover, organizational virtuousness has been found to be a significant predictor of job satisfaction. Various suggestions were presented based on the results of the research.
