A formação de enfermeiros residentes em UTI em instituição pública e privada La formación de enfermeros residentes en UCI en Instituciones públicas y privadasABSTRACT This qualitative study aimed to acknowledge the importance of practice in public and private institutions in the training of nurses in residency programs. Data were collected at two hospitals between February and March 2013, through interviews. From their analysis the following categories emerged: experience of graduate nurses in residency programs in ICUs of public and private institutions and potential for learning in public and private institutions regarding the training of nurses. Diff erences were detected in the work process and in the profi le of patients between the public and private fi elds, and dissociation between caring and management functions carried out by residents was demonstrated. It was concluded that the development of practices in public and private institutions provides diff erent and complementary experiences which prepare residents for management and care activities, improve management and technical assistance skills, encourages the exercise of in-service education and, by means of surveys, the search for solutions to problems that emerge from daily work. RESUMOEstudo qualitativo que objetivou conhecer a importância da prática em instituições públicas e privadas na formação de enfe rmeiros residentes. Os dados foram coletados em dois hospitais entre fevereiro e março de 2013, por meio de entrevistas. Da análise temática emergiram as categorias: vivência nas UTIs de instituições públicas e privadas a partir de enfermeiros residentes e potencial de aprendizado em instituições públicas e privadas na formação de enfermeiros intensivistas. Apontam-se diferenças no processo de trabalho e no perfi l de pacientes entre os campos público e privado e indica-se dissociação entre as funções assistencial e gerencial pelos residentes. Concluiu-se que o desenvolvimento de práticas em instituições públicas e privadas oportuniza vivências distintas e complementares que preparam os residentes para atuação gerencial e assistencial, aperfeiçoam competências gerenciais e técnico-assistenciais, estimulam o exercício da educação em serviço e a busca, na pesquisa, de soluções para problemas que emergem do trabalho. Bases epistemológicas sobre sentido(s) e significado(s) do trabalho em estudos nacionaisAs profundas mudanças no contexto de trabalho e sua centralidade sociológica e psicológica indicam a importância de entender os sentidos e significados atribuídos a ele. Neste artigo, o objetivo é analisar os fundamentos epistemológicos que sustentam as produções científicas nacionais em estudos empíricos sobre o fenômeno. Para tanto, realizou-se uma revisão integrativa, por meio de 25 artigos indexados nas bases de dados PePSIC e SciELO. Constata-se o amplo desenvolvimento da produção científica, com a prevalência de estudos que utilizam a abordagem existencialista e a sócio-histórica, bem como os aportes da psicodinâmica do trabalho concomitante às demais. As perspectivas epistemológicas predominantes nessa produção localizam-se nos quadrantes subjetivos interpretativista e humanista radical e, inseridos no eixo da subjetividade em Psicologia do Trabalho e das Organizações. A diversidade de abordagens sobre o fenômeno remete à importância de uma maior compreensão teórica, evitando-se incongruências na construção de pesquisas, e também a ampliação do escopo do estudo com a inclusão de análises internacionais. Palavras-chave: Sentido e significado; trabalho; epistemologia.The profound changes in the context of work and its sociological and psychological centrality indicate the relevance of understanding the senses and meanings attributed to it. The objective of this study is to analyze the epistemological foundations that sustain Brazilian scientific production in empirical studies that deal with the phenomenon. An integrative review was done with 25 publications indexed on the PePSIC and SciELO databases. It is noteworthy that the scientific production is in full development, with a prevalence of studies using the existentialist and socio-historical approaches, as well as the increasing use of the psychodynamic of work approach, in collaboration with the others. Epistemological perspectives are, mainly, located in two subjective quadrants, and the subjectivity axis of Work and Organizational Psychology. The diversity of approaches to the phenomenon underscores the importance of greater theoretical understanding, avoiding inconsistencies in the construction of research, as well as expanding the scope of the study with the inclusion of international analysis.

Objective: the objective was to assess the level of physical activity (LPA) and the quality of life QL of the professionals who work in ICU. Method: this was a cross-sectional study carried out in Adult ICUs. LPA was assessed by the International Questionnarie of Physical Activity -short form (IQPA-SF) and the QL by the Medical Outcomes Study 36 (SF-36) questionnaire. Results: it was classifi ed active 50.89% out of a total of 59 professionals. Nursing technicians were considered the most active with 60.6%. The QL of the professionals who were considered active were better when compared to inactives, with statistical differences to the category of physical aspects limitation, social aspects and mental health. The working hours were higher than recommend, the physicians were higher than the physical therapist, nurses and technicians nurses (p=0.046). Conclusion: physically active professionals who work in ICU had higher quality of life probably why have lower hours of work and consequently more free time to engage in physical activity.
