“…However, the expression kinetics of GREM1 and GLUT1 during IVM has not yet been well established. The up-regulation of BCL2 mRNA and absence of variation of BAX mRNA observed in cumulus cells of Control after IVM for 18 h are in accordance with that reported by Filali et al (2009) in human COCs. According to these authors, the ratio BCL2 (anti-apoptotic)/BAX (pro-apoptotic) determines cell survival, and the prevalence of BCL2 mRNA expression in cumulus cells is directly related to oocyte competence.…”

“…2 According to a study by Filali et al (2009), women with FSH and LH therapy showed increasing Bcl-2 expression and no apoptosis in ovaries. 7 Differences in Bcl-2 expression are also caused by increasing ROS. Cypermethrin can induce oxidative stress, which will produce an imbalance of oxidants and antioxidants.…”

“…BCL2 works as an anti-apoptotic gene to promote cell survival, whereas BCL2-associated X protein (BAX) acts as a pro-apoptotic gene to induce cell death [Zhang et al 2013]. The ratio of BCL2 to BAX could be used to predict the fate of cumulus oocyte complexes (COCs) after various treatments [Oltvai et al 1993;Gursoy et al 2008] and it could also be associated with the ability of oocytes to complete nuclear maturation [Filali et al 2009]. Hyaluronan synthase 2 (HAS2), prostaglandin endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2), and steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (STAR) genes expressed especially in cumulus cells during in vitro maturation that have been associated with developmental competence of oocytes and were suggested as predictors of embryo quality in women and cow [Assidi et al 2008;Calder et al 2001;Fair and Lonergan 2012;Nuttinck et al 2002].…”
