“…When researchers (either in‐house or outsourced) are responsible for conducting research, they become the mediators in the UCD process (Waisberg, ) and transfer their findings from the field to designers through deliverables and interaction. However, under such conditions, the effectiveness of the deliverables (Kumar, ; Mattelmäki, Brandt, & Vaajakallio, ; Roschuni et al, ; Sleeswijk Visser et al, ), changes in understanding based on the differences between professional mental models (Badke‐Schaub, Neumann, Lauche, & Mohammed, ), and the ways of overcoming communication problems between stakeholders (van Veggel, ), are still under discussion.
