Primary school teachers have a great role in the education of gifted students. Attitudes and selfefficacy beliefs of primary school teachers towards the education of gifted students play a key role in this task. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the attitudes, self-efficacy beliefs and educational needs of primary school teachers regarding the education of gifted students. The research was carried out with 100 primary school teachers working in various provinces in the fall semester of 2019-2020 academic year. The descriptive survey model was used in this study. In addition to the personal information form, the attitude scale for giftedness education, self-efficacy scale for gifted education, and the questionnaire about the educational needs of the gifted students were used. As the data showed normal distribution, the difference between the two groups was t-test and the comparison of more than two groups was performed by one-way Anova test. When all the results are evaluated together, it can be said that primary school teachers have positive attitude towards gifted students, but they have a belief in neutral self-efficacy towards their education and they need in-service training in this context. In further research, in-service trainings can be organized to increase the attitudes of teachers from various branches towards gifted students and self-efficacy beliefs. Training contents can be prepared to inform prospective teachers about gifted students and their education. Studies can be conducted to inform the primary school teachers about the methods and techniques that gifted students can use in their education.

Özel yetenekli çocuklar farklı düşünme becerilerine sahip olmaları, ileri düzeyde yaratıcı düşünme becerileri sergilemeleri ve bilişsel yetenekleri konusunda olağan gelişim gösteren çocuklardan farklılık gösterirler. Özel yetenekli çocukların bu farklılıklara sahip olmaları onların okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerilerine de yansımaktadır. Bu amaçla mevcut araştırmanın amacı dördüncü sınıfa devam eden olağan gelişim gösteren ve özel yetenekli öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerilerini arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda olağan gelişim gösteren ve özel yetenekli öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerileri cinsiyet, okul öncesi eğitim alma durumu, anne eğitim durumu ve baba eğitim durumu değişkenleri açısından incelenmiştir. Mevcut araştırmaya İstanbul, Kahramanmaraş, Kırklareli ve Diyarbakır şehirlerinden 131 olağan gelişim gösteren öğrenci ile BİLSEM’de eğitim gören 101 özel yetenekli öğrenci olmak üzere toplamda 232 öğrenci dahil edilmiştir. İlişkisel tarama deseni kullanılan araştırmada kişisel bilgi formu, okuduğunu anlama başarı testi ve 3 alt boyuta sahip yaratıcı okuma sürecini değerlendirme ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 27.0 programı ile (T-test, Mann- Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis-H ve pearson korelasyon analizi) analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerisi özel yetenekli öğrencilerin lehine anlamlı bir şekilde farklılık göstermektedir. Olağan gelişim gösteren ve özel yetenekli öğrencilerin cinsiyete göre okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerileri toplam puan ortalamalarında her iki öğrenci grubu için de kız ve erkek öğrenciler arasında anlamlı farklılık görülmemiştir. Olağan gelişim gösteren öğrencilerin okul öncesi eğitimi alma durumuna göre yapılan analizler sonucunda okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerilerinde anlamlı farklılık görülmemiştir fakat özel yetenekli öğrenciler arasında okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerileri okul öncesi eğitim alanlar lehine anlamlı farklılık göstermektedir. Anne-baba eğitim düzeyine göre her iki gruptaki öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerilerinde anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmemiştir. Ayrıca yapılan korelasyon analizine göre olağan gelişim gösteren öğrencilerin okuduğunu anlama ve yaratıcı okuma becerilerinde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmazken özel yetenekli grup adına anlamlı ve pozitif yönde ilişki bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonucuna göre elde edilen bulgular ve literatür göz önünde bulundurularak eğitimciler, araştırmacılar ve ailelere birtakım öneriler getirilmiştir.

The purpose of the study was two-fold: The first purpose of the research was to conduct the "adaptation study of Brigance K & 1 screen II to Turkish," while the second was to "investigate the effect of the enrichment program applied to gifted children and their classmates in the 1st grade of primary education on their performance in multiple intelligence fields". The research was conducted in the screening model and experimental design. The study group consisted of 477 primary schools first grade students (6 years old). Data collection tools are as follows, Brigance K & 1 Screen II scale, Goodenough-Harris draw-aperson test, Teele Multiple Intelligence Preference Inventory (TIMI), Enrichment Program Pre-test -Post-test, and "Project Evaluation Criteria List." After the screening process, a class-wide enrichment program based on multiple intelligence was applied to gifted and talented children and their classmates. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data at hand. The findings of the study revealed that Brigance K & 1 Screen II scale was effective in determining gifted children attending the first grade of primary school with a rough evaluation. The enrichment program results were different from the existing school program in favor of enrichment. The class-wide enrichment program has improved all children, with a more potential for gifted children. As a part of the program, a total of 163 students were given project assignments. At the end of the evaluation, it was determined that the students improved in multiple intelligence areas.
