Thanks to technology, which has the potential to go to the most remote places and which concerns individuals of all ages and from all walks of life, many actions that were previously impossible can be done. Especially children constitute the important human resources of technology. However, the conscious use of technology is considered important. Creativity is a phenomenon that can be utilized in the conscious use of technology. Creativity is defined as the ability to create original products, to think and feel differently. The innate creativity ability may decrease over time. The decrease in creativity can pave the way for the emergence of individuals who think and act in a uniform way. Such a situation can undoubtedly be an important obstacle to social progress. For this reason, it is necessary to support the creativity abilities of children. In supporting creativity, the use of technology, in which children spend most of their time, will ensure the realization of two-way purposes. Based on these considerations, it is aimed to explain how the technology-creativity relationship can be combined in childhood.

The pre-school period is an important period in which significant progress is made in the development of the child and the construction of the future is made. Pre-school education has always been important in Türkiye and different studies have been carried out in each period. These studies have focused on the value and importance given to the child. As a matter of fact, before Turkey become a republic country in 1923, the child was seen as an important person who would shape the future and the importance of the family was emphasized in the education of the child. Before the Republic, different educational institutions were opened for the education of children. These developments continued in the Seljuk period and the early periods of the Ottoman Empire. After the proclamation of the Republic, primary education was given more importance due to the conditions of the country. Initiatives for the education of children were discussed in development plans and National Education Councils. At the same time, importance was given to the family education. During these developments, programs were created in parallel with the development of the period and priority was given to the training of teachers. Considering these topics, in this study, pre-school education in Türkiye, the development of the pre-school education program and pre-school teacher training are to be discussed.

Bu araştırma okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin sınıflarında verdikleri matematik eğitimine ve sınıf içi uygulamalarına ilişkin görüşlerini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada olgu bilim (fenomenoloji) deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Ankara’daki resmi ve özel okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında görev yapmakta olan 35 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yönteminden kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri, araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış öğretmen görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Öğretmenlere demografik bilgi sorularının yanı sıra, sınıflarında verdikleri matematik eğitimini ve sınıf içi uygulamalarını incelemek amacıyla 11 soru yöneltilmiştir. Formda öğretmenlerin okul öncesi eğitimde matematik eğitimi denilince ne düşündükleri, çocukların okul öncesi dönemde kazanmaları gereken matematik kavramlarının ve becerilerinin neler olduğu, yaptıkları matematik etkinliklerini yeterli bulma durumları, matematik etkinliklerini uygulamada zorluk yaşama durumları ve hangi durumlarda zorluk yaşadıkları ile ilgili görüşme soruları yer almaktadır. Veriler betimsel analiz tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda, öğretmenlerin çoğu matematik eğitimini; ilk olarak matematik becerileri (eşleştirme, sıralama, sınıflandırma, işlem, sayma, ölçme), matematik kavramları (sayılar, şekiller, örüntü, grafik, miktar, renkler) ve temellerinin atılması gereken bir eğitim alanı olarak düşündüklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğu matematik etkinliklerini haftanın 4-5 günü uyguladıklarını, sınıflarında yaptıkları matematik etkinliklerini yeterli bulduklarını ve etkinlikleri uygularken zorluk yaşamadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin çoğu matematik eğitiminde kullandıkları yöntem ve tekniklerin gösterip yaptırma, oyun ve soru-cevap olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir.
