“…2, two relevant ring cleavage ions at m/z 350.04 and at m/z 306.08 corresponding to 0,4 A 2 and 0,4 A 2 -CO 2 are detected. According to our previous studies 29,30 these cleavages are diagnostic for the NeuAca2-6 linkage.…”

“…Concerning the analysis of peptides by CE-MS, a high variety of mass analyzers have been used, mainly single quadrupole (Q), triple quadrupole (QqQ), IT, and TOF, as well as other more expensive systems as quadrupole-TOF MS [38][39][40], Hadamard transform TOF MS [41], Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance MS (FTICR-MS) [17,[42][43][44], etc. However, the employment of these advanced MS analyzers is not so common, obviously due to their high price and more difficult operation routine.…”

“…Among the postseparation treatments, increasing the sample concentration by solvent evaporation is the most frequent and time-consuming one. These two inherent problems associated to the off-line CE-MS coupling could be to a significant extent overcome by automated chip-based negative ion ESI-QTOF-MS in off-line conjunction with CE [55]. In this study, for testing the compatibility of the off-line CE coupling to the (2)nano ESIchip NanoMate/QTOF-MS for ionization and detection in a given CE buffer system, a multicomponent mixture of O-glycosylated amino acids and peptides from urine of patients suffering from Schindler disease was dissolved in 0.1 M formic acid/ammonia pH 2.8 to a concentration of 5 pmol/mL and infused automatically into MS. A constant and stable spray over 10 min analysis time and high ionic current indicated the compatibility of this buffer system with automatic chip-based ESI and that the analyte molecules could be efficiently ionized.…”
