“…After the introduction of the Hib vaccine in the Brazilian official calendar in 1999 there was more than 90% reduction in number of meningitis cases by this agent. Reinforcing this fact, IAL laboratory data show that the national percentage of isolation of Hib strains decreased 88% after the introduction of Hib vaccine in Brazil 3,6 .
