Nutritional Status of Children and Adolescents: Factors Associated to Overweight and Fat Accumulation

When it comes to excess body fat, it is in agreement with results found by Salvador et al 3 , in which older adolescents were less likely to present excess body fat. The decrease in the number of hours of sleep with advancing age in older adolescents is well established in the literature 6,9 , in which the plausibility of such a relationship would be that concomitant with the increase of the adolescents' age increases responsibilities and social commitments resulting in fewer hours of sleep and more tasks 6,9 .…”
