Nursing performance in robotic surgeries: integrative review

Abstract: Objective:To know the scientific production on the performance of the nursing staff in robotic surgeries, identifying the role of the nurse in the three perioperative periods. selected articles met the inclusion criteria. Results: Most articles were published in foreign journals in English, nine in the United States, classified with evidence level of 4 and 5. The role of nursing in the perioperative period was identified, related mainly to patient safety. The most mentioned perioperative period in the articles… Show more

“…It is recommended that procedures and tools be standardized, also by preparing a specific checklist [53] (Grade A-Best Practice) 2. It is advisable to create a dedicated nursing team that includes three nurses in the operating room [6,[143][144][145] (Grade B-Level Low) 3. It is advisable to identify a single contact person among the nursing staff for taking charge of the patient in the room (compilation of the in and out check list) [6,[143][144][145] (Grade B-Level Low)…”

“…When it comes to psychosocial risks faced by nursing in various fields of activity, it can be highlighted the lack of equipment maintenance, relationship problems between workers, communication problems, shortage of human resources, accelerated work pace, increased workload and inadequate physical environment (6)(7)(8)(9)(10) . In the CSSD, studies show that the main factors that put the health and safety of workers at risk are contact with chemical products and biological agents, repetitive physical effort and staying in an environment with high temperature and noise (11)(12) .…”
