Nickel complex-catalysed reactions of butadiene with amines

Abstract: SO9 5NH)Summary Octadienyl and butenyl substituted amines reported. Tertiary phosphine complexes of palladium(0) have been shown to catalyse the reaction of buta-1,3-diene with methanol and phenol to give l-methoxyocta-2,7-diene and l-phenoxyocta-2,7-diene, respective1y.l Similar reactions have been demonstrated with primary and secondary A NUMBER of palladium complex-catalysed reactions of amines, carboxylic acids,2 9 3 and active-methylene and active-hydrogen compounds with buta-1,3-diene have been -methine … Show more

“…Transition-metal-catalyzed hydroamination of conjugated dienes is not new: a nickel-catalyzed process was reported as early as 1971. [11] Since then, there have been a few examples in which Pd 0 , Rh I , Rh III , or Co II is used. [12] Telomerization often occurs in the palladium-and nickel-catalyzed reactions.…”

“…The resulting allylic amine10 products are important precursors in organic synthesis and are encountered in many natural products. Transition‐metal‐catalyzed hydroamination of conjugated dienes is not new: a nickel‐catalyzed process was reported as early as 1971 11. Since then, there have been a few examples in which Pd 0 , Rh I , Rh III , or Co II is used 12.…”
