The article examines the influence of the housing and communal services on the sustainability of the city. The work provides the interpretation of the “urban sustainability” category, considers the main indicators of ensuring the sustainability of the city. The components of the urban sustainability, associated with the improvement and modernization of housing and communal services for the degree of comfort of living of the population, have been substantiated. The role of housing and communal services in ensuring the sustainability of the city, the sustainability of the urban environment is presented in the results of a survey conducted as part of a sociological study. The issues of the quality of the provided housing and communal services, the degree of satisfaction of consumers with housing and communal services, the extent to which residents can take part in making decisions to improve the quality of life and the urban environment, issues of safe life in the city, the need to build new social facilities to improve the urban environment, the degree of implementation of investment design solutions, organization of management of apartment buildings, etc. The study was carried out as part of a scientific project.

Today, information technologies (IT) are used in almost every production industry. While the aspects of IT are well studied and discussed in relevant monographs, articles, web sources, etc., this paper reviews the performance improvement options in the construction industry by leveraging IT. From a wide range of information technologies the author has picked the most relevant solutions, from his point of view, based on several considerations, the most important one being the lack of adequate attention to these technologies specifically in the construction industry. The paper covers the following technologies: Big Data (a smart technology for high-speed processing of huge and diverse data arrays); situation centers (SC) for construction and operations projects (SCs are successfully used in other industries for operating control of sophisticated facilities); data warehouses (DW) for the construction industry (DWs are viewed as a standalone project rather than a supplement to Data Mining or Big Data); operational and dispatch radio communication service (radio communication can ensure instant connectivity between several subscribers); VSAT (a satellite technology for prompt connection of a distant construction site with the 'outer world' when no alternatives are available). The paper briefly presents the essence of each technology, describes the pre-requisites for its use in construction, outlines the key advantages, limits and shortcomings, and lists construction projects where it shall be worthwhile to use a specific technology projects.

Abstract.Comparative evaluations of the frequency responses (FR) of two types of filters implemented by the classical and neural network methods are carried out. It is shown that the neural network principle of the implementation of digital filters can serve as an alternative to the classical method for specifically defined parameters of FR in the pass bands and attenuation bands of the frequencies of signal spectrum. The simplest method for calculating the parameters of the filters' difference equations is the neural network approach, regardless of the type of classification of discrete and digital filters. The implementation of TM (transmultiplexer) on a digital element base requires the use of methods of filtering, modulating and demodulating signals that are largely different from traditional analog methods. The frequency responses of non-recursive types of filters presented in the paper are based on the property of the approximable function determined only in the pass bands and attenuation bands of the frequencies of signal spectrum.
