Neovascularization after ischemic injury: evaluation with 99mTc-HYNIC-RGD

Abstract: Purpose: Angiogenesis involves many mediators including integrins, and the tripeptide RGD is a target amino acid recognition sequence for many of them. Hindlimb ischemia is a simple and convenient animal model however standardization of the injection procedures in the devascularized and control limb is lacking, thus rendering difficult the interpretation of results. The aim of this investigations was to evaluate neovascularization in a hindlimb murine model by means of 99mTc-HYNIC-ß-Ala-RGD. Methods: 99mTc-HYN… Show more

“…It means that a reference is missing and that worldwide in different experimental laboratories the researchers start their studies from different experimental situations. [2][3][4][5] To verify the existence of this anastomotic circle and its anatomical variations a preliminary study was performed at the Ecole de Chirurgie du Fer a Moulin-Paris.Five rats were dissected under the microscope, the dissections were performed following both the gluteal vessels and the femoral ones. The major branches of these arteries were identified and followed.…”
