“…The relief of the study area is strongly influenced by anthropogenic activity (the occurrence of numerous urban/residential, communications, industrial, mining and other anthropogenic landforms). The exploitation of construction materials (loess, sand, building stone-limestone, sandstone, conglomerate, granodiorite, metabasalt) can be traced back to the 12th century and it has markedly influenced the landscape [85][86][87].…”

“…Mikromorfologie v archeologickém kontextu je metodický nástroj používaný při multidisciplinárních archeologických vý zkumech, a to nejen v zahraničí (souhrnně Karkanas, Gold berg 2019;Macphail, Goldberg 2017;Nicosia, Stoops 2017, Goldberg, Macphail, 2006) ale i u nás (Dejmal et al 2014;Kuna et al 2012;2013;Lisá et al 2013;2018;2020a;2020b;Nejman et al 2018;Novák et al 2012;Parma et al 2015;2011). Podstatou této metody je mikrosko pické studium neporušených vzorků připravených do formy tenkých průřezů (výbrusů) a to nejlépe ve formátu 7 × 10 cm (tzv.…”

“…This article discusses the results of a multiproxy study dealing with the Svratka River sedimentary sequence at Brno-Přízřenice and Brno-Modřice. Archaeological rescue excavations (2012–2016) at the site (Parma et al, 2015) unearthed a complex fluvial sedimentary sequence dated to the Neolithic–Late Bronze Age periods (in local archaeological terminology). Various records suggest that in Southern Moravia (and other areas of Central Europe), significant changes in precipitation and vegetation cover occurred during these times (Berglund, 2003; Kalis et al, 2003; Ložek, 2011; Petřík et al, 2018; Ralska-Jasiewiczowa et al, 1998).…”

“…Bronze Age settlements were also situated close to streams and rivers but mainly positioned on terraces and slopes close to streams (Jiráň et al, 2008). Although most well-known settlements are typically positioned in the landscape as described above, there is reliable evidence of some settlements located directly on the floodplain (Parma et al, 2015; Staňa, 1957). At the site, based on maps presented in Mitáček et al (2017), we can conclude that the settlement areas were present on terrace edges thorough the time and that settlement activities in alluvium were sporadic.…”
