The Role of Anthropogenic Landforms in Sustainable Landscape Management

Abstract: Anthropogenic landforms are attractive landscape structures. They are linked to the cultural elements of the landscape and they also support biodiversity on the landscape level. Concerning their position within heritage concepts, anthropogenic landforms can be seen as a bridge between natural and cultural heritages. This paper is focused on the relevance of anthropogenic landforms to landscape management and planning. The study is based on the concept of geomorphosites, which can be applied within sustainable … Show more

“…Thus, through a direct or indirect combination of human activities and natural forces, numerous landscapes have been created [1,2]. The anthropogenic activities significantly change the landscape and they can be implemented within the framework of sustainable management and conservation of geomorphological heritage, which is confirmed by the study by Kubalikova et al [3]. The results of the anthropogenic assessment in this study may serve the purpose of landscaping and assist in arguments for the conservation of particular localities.…”

“…geomorphosites; see a review in Brilha 2016), sometimes very specific (e.g. anthropogenic landforms, Kubalikova et al 2019; rock cliffs equipped for climbing; Bollati et al 2016). In this last case, the authors pose the emphasis on definite features decided time by time.…”
