Multi constrained Route Optimization for Electric Vehicles using SimE

Abstract: Route Optimization (RO) is an important feature of Electric Vehicles (EVs) navigation system. This work performs the RO for EVs using the Multi Constrained Optimal Path (MCOP) problem. The proposed MCOP problem aims to minimize the length of the path and meets constraints on travelling time, time delay due to traffic signals, recharging time and recharging cost. The optimization is performed through a design of Simulated Evolution (SimE) which has innovative goodness, allocation and mutation operations for the… Show more

“…Similarly, the use of graph theory for representing the road infrastructure is documented in [44]. In the former delegate MAS approach [10], ants are used for finding the best solution; while in the latter, genetic algorithms provide the meta-heuristic to search for the solutions.…”

“…Moreover, according to Sitanayah et al (2012), centrality is used for routing and load balancing in the WSN field. Siddiqi et al (2011) presented that route optimization is another important feature of WSNs. Route optimization is used for finding the optimum paths from the source node to the base station or the sink node that respect given constraints.…”

“…In addition, it takes approximately 30 minutes for full charge even in the case of quick-charging. Thus, it is necessary for the long-distance run of EVs to charge battery on the way, and so the optimal route planning methods with the optimal charging point and the minimum charge quantity have been intensively studied [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7].…”
