“…Atypical tuberous myxedema has been regarded as a variant of lichen myxedematosus [von Fischer, 1949;Lever, 1963] because the only difference is the size of the lesions; while lichen myxedematosus is characterized by papular lesions [Kreibich, 1927;Neumann, 1935;von Fischer, 1949;von Zezschwitz, 1959] mucinous nodules in addition to papules have been described in atypical tuberous myxedema Jadassohn-Dossekker [Dossekker, 1916;Tryb, 1923;Pawl off, 1924;Kreibich, 1927;Per and Rossiansky, 1928], Scleromyxedema Arndt-Gottron [Gottron, 1954] is characterized by diffuse mucinous deposits existing in addition to mucinous papules. These diffuse deposits were not observed in the cases of atypical tuberous myxedema, published by Tryb [1923], PawloJf [\924], Per and Rossiansky [1928] and in the case described here.…”
