“…Today there are a number of AM and MP web sites and blogs, some of which are using Welsh. In a sample of 50 MP web sites, of the eight who represented a Welsh constituency, one was found to make a full bilingual Welsh/English language provision, whilst another MP wrote of their knowledge of the Welsh language but did not use it on their site (Goodchild et al , 2007, p. 578). The British Computer Society “Best MP Web site Award” for 2007 was given to Adam Price, a Plaid Cymru MP, whose web site is bilingual (British Computer Society, 2007).…”

Finally, despite the coding grids developed in the past by HSS experts (Bastien & Greffet, 2009;Gibson & Ward, 2000;Goodchild, Oppenheim, & Cleeve, 2007;Kluver, Jankowski, Foot, & Schneider, 2007) to organise the collection of data and the reproduction of procedures, the processes involved were generally manual and therefore extremely time-consuming, which explains the reduced number of comparative studies between different countries (S. Coleman, 2006;Hoff, 2004;Lilleker, Koc-Michalska, Schweitzer, & Jacunski, 2011).…”

“…In the UK, much of the 'peacetime' research has focused on content analyses of elected members' personal websites (e.g., Halstead, 2002;Jackson, 2003;Ward and Lusoli, 2005;Vicente-Merino, 2007;Goodchild et al, 2007). In these studies, whilst the parliamentarians themselves have tended to believe that their website is a useful tool for communicating with their constituents, the nature of this communication has been largely one-way, with few opportunities for constituents to enter into two-way, online dialogue with their representatives.…”
