Mothers provide similar care to related and unrelated chicks in quail

Abstract

 Mothers show similar warming and rejection levels and mother-chicks distances toward unrelated and related chicks.  Related and unrelated chicks show similar behaviours toward the mother and similar distances between themselves.  Related and unrelated chicks show no difference of emotional and social development after mothering.
