Morphogenic, structural, productive and bromatological characteristics of Braquiária in silvopastoral system under nitrogen doses

Abstract: his study aimed to evaluate the effect of different doses of nitrogen fertilization on the morphogenic, structural, productive and chemical composition of Urochloa decumbens (Stapf) R. D. Webster cv. Basilisk in a silvopastoral system with eucalyptus. The experimental treatments consisted of pastures of Basilisk cultivar, fertilized with 0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 kg ha-1 year-1 of N, and intercropped with eucalyptus, clone GG 100 (Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophylla). The experimental arrangement followed a rando… Show more

“…These factors explain the higher NDF and lower CP contents in cut 4 (Table 2). The environmental conditions did not intensely impact the ADF levels, which had smaller variations in the mean, while the effect of fertilization with N on this variable is diverse, being able to increase [46], decrease [51], cause a quadratic effect [50] or have no effect [6,8].…”

“…Nitrogen fertilization increases productivity, improves in the chemical and morphological characteristics of forage (Marques et al 2017;Carvalho et al 2019), and promotes weight gain per animal and per unit area (Delevatti et al 2019). However, inadequate use of nitrogen fertilizers can increase GHG emission (Raposo et al 2020;Grassmann et al 2020;Smith et al 2020).…”
