Molybdenum and potassium in the foliar fertilization and seed quality in the soybean

Abstract: Molybdenum is the micronutrient required in less quantity by plants and found in lower concentrations in Brazilian soils. The study aimed to study the influence of the application of molybdenum (Mo) and potassium (K) via foliar feeding, at different phenological stages, on the quality of soybean seeds. The work was conducted in the field in the county of Coronel Bicaco, RS under the condition of a typical dystropheric red Latosol (Oxisol) soil, in the 2017/2018 season crop. The experimental design was randomiz… Show more

“…Studies with foliar fertilization of micronutrients in soybean crop are reported in the literature: application of foliar fertilizer together with herbicides increased the grain mass (Moraes et al, 2017), increase in the number of pods per plant and grain mass. In addition, studies demonstrate positive effects of foliar fertilization on the performance of other crops such as cassava (Bester et al, 2020), beans (Ferreira et al, 2021), oats (Silva et al, 2019), corn (Ferreira et al, 2021), soybean (Frota et al, 2020) and Physalis peruviana (Pedó et al, 2018).…”

“…Soybean is one of the main crops of agriculture, with a relevant socioeconomic role, with Brazil being the second largest world producer of oilseeds. In the 2018/2019 harvest, the crop occupied an area of 35.8 million hectares in the country, with a 1.9% increase in planted area compared to the previous harvest, with an estimated production of 114.4 million tons of grains (Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento [CONAB], 2019;Hanyu, Costa, Cecon, & Matsuo, 2020;Soares, Sediyama, & Matsuo, 2020;Ferreira et al, 2020;Frota et al, 2020;Carvalho et al, 2021).…”
