In the current era, the world of education faces challenges of how to design learning by using digital media with the intention to improve the instructional quality and students’ competencies. Digital media are important in the world of education since they are able to present materials contextually, visually, interestingly, and interactively. The present study was aimed at identifying teacher-candidate students’ perceptions on the use of digital literacy as a learning resource. The study was a survey involving students of the universities that had a partnership with USAID Priority as the research population. A sample of 168 students was selected from seven such universities. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The weighting of the questionnaire scores used the Likert’s scale. The variable Digital Literacy consisted of four indicators of ICT basic competencies, informational skills, media awareness, and computational thinking. Findings show that the teacher-candidate students have good perceptions in the use of digital literacy as a learning resource. On the ICT basic skill indicator, the average score is at the high category; on the informational skill indicator, the average score is at the very high category; on the media awareness, the average score is at the high category; and on the computational thinking indicator, the average score is at the medium category.

Di era digital, makna literasi media semakin luas. Dari awalnya terkait persoalan melek huruf dan melek media, mulai bergeser pada bagaimana perilaku seseorang menggunakan media, serta apa saja konten yang diunggah dan dikonsumsi. Di Indonesia, pengguna aktif media sosial tergolong tinggi. Namun tingginya aktivitas di media sosial ini tidak sejalan dengan tingkat literasi media masyarakatnya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Tarumanagara dilakukan dalam bentuk pembekalan literasi media sosial dengan sasaran siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Kegiatan dilakukan di SMP Katolik Abdi Siswa II Jakarta Barat. Pembekalan dilakukan dengan memberikan pemahaman tentang penggunaan media sosial Instagram dan Youtube sebagai medium menyebarkan konten positif. Dari hasil observasi ditemukan bahwa setelah dilakukan pendampingan secara berkelompok, para siswa mampu membuat konten positif di Instagram. Dengan metode survei juga diketahui bahwa para siswa sebagian besar mampu menggunakan media sosial secara bijak mulai dari durasi penggunaan, konten yang diunggah, akun yang diikuti, hingga cara mencari pengikut. Namun, penggunaan media sosial ini masih perlu didampingi oleh orang dewasa dan aturan ketat di sekolah.

Students need an understanding of mathematical concepts provided by educators who have good skills. Educators must also maximize their teaching time so that it requires learning models such as e-learning and blended learning to meet the loss of teaching time due to other activities that must be done by the teacher besides teaching. This study aims to see the impact of blended learning and e-learning on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students in the material of two-variable linear equations. The method used in this study is the quasi-experiment with the posttest only control design research. Technical analysis uses one way ANOVA. Based on the results of the study, Blended Learning and E-Learning influence understanding mathematical concepts in the two-variable linear equation material, so that it can be used as a knowledge given to students in understanding mathematical concepts.
