MnO2‐TiO2 Nanocomposite and 2‐(3,4‐Dihydroxyphenethyl) Isoindoline‐1,3‐Dione as an Electrochemical Platform for the Concurrent Determination of Cysteine, Tryptophan and Uric Acid

Abstract: A novel modified carbon paste electrode (CPE) based on an MnO2‐TiO2 nanocomposite and 2‐(3,4 dihydroxyphenethyl) isoindoline‐1,3‐dione (DPID) as the modifier for the simultaneous analysis of cysteine (Cys), tryptophan (Trp) and uric acid (UA), as three key biochemicals present in human body. The MnO2/TiO2 nanocomposite was synthesized through a chemical co‐precipitation approach and the resulting electrode (MnO2‐TiO2/DPID/CPE) was used for studying the electrochemical oxidation of cysteine (Cys), tryptophan (T… Show more

“…CySH is an electroactive molecule and it is very important to investigate the electrochemical behavior and sensitive detection of CySH. However, the detection of CySH on bare electrode was found some defects such as low sensitivity, poor repeatability, and slow electron transfer reaction . To overcome these limitations, modified electrodes have been proposed to improve the electrochemical detection of CySH .…”

“…However, the differentiation presents important disadvantages in increased noise level or insufficient number of sampling points . The use of chemically modified electrodes, on the other hand, in spite of their successful application for simultaneous species determination , still remains challenging, because of the serious deficiencies of the fabrication procedures, related to the expensive materials and sophisticated techniques required. Therefore, another strategy for the resolution of the mononitrophenol isomers mixture, based on the application of Differential Alternative Pulses Voltammetry (DAPV) is proposed in this work.…”

“…Compared with the above‐mentioned analytic methods, electrochemical techniques show the advantages of simplicity, cost effectiveness, easy operation, low analysis time and acceptable sensitivity . On the other hand, electrochemical detection is a powerful alternative of other analytical techniques for monitoring the organic pollutants such as nitroaromatics .…”
