S-duality of tree-levelS-matrix elements inD3-brane effective action

Abstract: Recently it has been speculated that the S-matrix elements on the world volume of D 3 -branes should satisfy the Ward identity corresponding to the S-duality transformations. For a single brane and in the low energy limit, this indicates that in the Abelian Dirac-Born-Infeld and Chern-Simons actions, the combination of contact terms and tree-level massless poles in an n-point function should satisfy the S-duality. In this paper, we examine in details the S-matrix element of three gauge bosons and one 2-form an… Show more

“…On the other hand, it has been shown [50] that the leading order terms of the scattering amplitude of four gauge fields are reproduced by the F 4 terms of the BI action. The on-shell BI action is invariant under the linear S-duality up to F 4 terms [51,52]. The SL(2, R) invariant structure of this amplitude agrees with eq.…”

“…It has been observed in[22] that the combination of massless poles and contact terms of the S-matrix element of six gauge fields at the leading order of α ′ which is reproduced by the DBI action, is invariant under linear S-duality.…”
