Microarray expression profiling of dysregulated long non‐coding RNAs in Hirschsprung's disease reveals their potential role in molecular diagnosis

Abstract: Our results are the first to report the expression profile of dysregulated lncRNAs in HSCR and infer that lncRNAs may serve as novel diagnostic biomarkers for HSCR.

“…Recently, evidence have indicated that non-protein coding genes such as miR-218-1 [3], miR-206 [4], miR-192/215 [5] and some other microRNAs (miRNAs), can also result in the occurrence of HSCR by retarding the proliferation and migration of cells. At the same time, some long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are also detected significantly differentially expressed in intestinal tissues with HSCR according to the Microarray analysis [6] which suggests another pathogenic factor for HSCR.…”

“…Thus, we randomly selected an additional 11 lncRNAs for qRT‐PCR verification for a total of 22 lncRNAs, including 10 upregulated and 12 downregulated lncRNAs. An additional 25 samples were selected during the verification process, therefore, the verification results not only tested the consistency between the qRT‐PCR results and microarray data as previously reported, but also verified the expression levels of these selected lncRNAs in ESCC. The qRT‐PCR verification results showed good consistency with the microarray data, and were similar to previously reported data …”

“…Our prevenient work has proved the expression profile of long non-coding RNA in HSCR [14]. One of them is LOC100507600, which is obviously down regulated among HSCR cases.…”

“…Recently long non-coding RNA have been proved to play important roles in a lot of diseases [18][19][20]. According to the Microarray expression results of lncRNAs between HSCR and negative controls [14]. LOC100507600 is significantly down-regulated in HSCR tissues.…”
