Métodos para estimar razão de prevalência em estudos de corte transversal

Abstract: The objective of the study was to evaluate the sensitivity of probabilistic record linkage for reported birth identification. Data from the Pró-Saúde Study cohort population were used comprising technical-administrative staff at a university in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1999. A total of 92 records of subjects were linked to the database of the Brazilian Information System on Live Births (SINASC) using RecLink II program. Both reduced and amplified strategies of clerical review were used. The sensitivity for b… Show more

“…Second, prevalence and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) of the variables of interest were calculated. Given the cross‐sectional nature of the study, as well as potential high prevalence of the outcome of interest (Barros and Hirakata, 2003), the association between depression and glycemic control was evaluated using Poisson regression models with robust standard errors (Coutinho et al ., 2008), reporting prevalence ratios (PR) and 95% CI adjusted for potential confounders. Different models were fitted utilizing a hierarchical approach (Victora et al ., 1997), conducted to better understand the potential influence of covariates in the association of interest.…”

“…4,6 The backward method was used: the variables of the fi rst hierarchical level were analyzed together and the variables with signifi cance greater than or equal to 20% were progressively excluded. The variables of the second hierarchical level were then added to the model, and the same procedure was followed, with progressive exclusion of the variables of this level with p ≥ 0.20.…”

“…To get around this problem, the robust variance method was used, which allows convergence of the results from the regression with similar results obtained using the Mantel-Haenszel method. 7 To calculate the association measurements, the reference group for the analysis on factors associated with vaccination was the group of vaccinated individuals. PR > 1 represented greater prevalence in the strata analyzed strata and PR < 1, lesser vaccination prevalence in the strata analyzed, comparatively to the reference group.…”
