Methods for calculating the pressure loss of the air flow and energy consumed by the fan of the cotton harvester

Abstract: The article presents the methods for calculating the pressure loss of the pneumatic transport system of a cotton harvester related to the power consumption of the fan drive. Mathematical models for computer calculation are presented. Numerical studies of the influence of the pipeline diameter and the air mixture composition on the power consumption of the fan drive are presented. It was determined that with an increase in the diameter of the pipeline from 0.15 m to 0.175 m and a change in the mixture concentra… Show more

“…A new U-shaped receiving chamber (Figure 1) was developed [24][25][26] to eliminate the shortcomings of the serial slit-like receiving chamber. The receiving chamber consists of the vertical inlet pipe 1 with a side slit-like opening for receiving cotton mass, equal in height to bar 2 of the doffer; curved bottom 3 connecting vertical inlet pipe 1 with outlet pipe 6, a window with lid 4 to remove, if necessary, solid impurities, fairing 5 for directing the air-cotton mixture with less resistance to outlet pipe 6 connected to the suction line of the fan.…”

“…indicators, in particular, skin integrity is lower by 3-4% [9,10]. Until now, scientific research and experimental design work on the accuracy of running CHMs along cotton rows and its effect on agrotechnical indicators mainly related to the aforementioned tractor-mounted CHMs [3,4,5,7,8]. There are few works on modeling the movement of CHMs of the MX(XM) type, including the stabilization (stabilization) of the movement of the guide wheels, and those that exist are mainly devoted to theoretical and experimental studies of turning the machine on the edge of the field [3,4,5].…”

“…Until recently, mainly cotton and grain were grown in Uzbekistan's agriculture. For this reason, scientific research work was mainly carried out on the development of plows and other equipment for cultivation of cotton and grain, seed drills, harvesting and cotton picking machines, and grain cleaning machines [6][7][8][9][10][11][12].…”
