Metabolomic shifts inBrassica napuslines with enhancedBnPLC2expression impact their response to low temperature stress and plant pathogens

Abstract: Phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase C2 (PLC2) is a signaling enzyme with hydrolytic activity against membrane-bound phosphoinositides. It catalyzes the cleavage of phosphatidylinositol(4,5)bisphosphate (PtdIns(4,5) P 2 ) into two initial second messengers, myo-inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate (InsP 3 ) and diacylglycerol (DAG). The former, as well as its fully phosphorylated derivative, myo-inositol-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexakisphosphate (InsP 6 ), play a major role in calcium signaling events within the cell, while… Show more

“…Therefore, a precise, measurable mapping of metabotypes is permitted to detect candidate gene. 176,179 Metabolic levels of fatty acids, G3P, glycerol, and maltose significantly rose in GE plants in cold stresses by elevated concentrations of flavonoids, raffinose, and other sugars. 181 Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based seed metabolites identification was carried out between two species, rapeseed and turnip.…”

“…This enzyme cleaves phosphatidylinositol (4,5) bisphosphate into two initial secondary messengers, myo-inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate and diacylglycerol (DAG). DAG may be used as a precursor for phosphatidic acid (PA) biosynthesis, an important signaling molecule involved in biotic stress tolerance 94 . Protein 3,4-dihydroxy-2-butanone kinase is involved in flavin biosynthesis.…”

Tough there were so many candidate genes involved in the response to low-temperature stress have been identified, only few genes' functions in cold tolerant have been tested and verified in rapeseed [10,29,55,70,71]. It is a pity that constitutive overexpression of rapeseed BnCBF5 and BnCBF17 resulted in various degrees of dwarf habit and longer time to flower, tough which resulted in increased freezing tolerance remarkably in spring rapeseed "Westar" [29].…”
