Intestinal malformations are common disorders in newborn and favorable outcomes have been reported for such conditions. Although, if the patient is treated in a not experienced center, misinterpretation of the clinical and radiological findings may lead to errors in treatment and possible complications in adulthood. We report a case of a congenital megaduodenum which was misinterpreted as an intestinal malrotation resulting in late complications. The patient underwent a successful surgical resection of the duodenum with improvement of his clinical symptoms and nutritional status. This case report emphasizes the importance of considering megaduodenum in the differential diagnosis of patients with feeding impairment, even during adulthood. Early diagnosis and treatment may improve patients’ outcome and reduce morbidity.

Introduction: Strongyloidiasis is a parasitic disease, which is more prevalent in tropical regions of the world. It is usually found in a chronic and limited disease form yet in some immunocompromised patients, it may become a life -threatening disease. Case Presentation: A 55 -year -old female, who was a known case for ulcerative colitis, referred to the hospital with nausea and vomiting. The patient was diagnosed with Strongyloidiasis due to Strongyloides stercoralis larvae, detected in the stool examination test and the biopsy specimens taken from the duodenum. The patient received subcutaneous ivermectin and reached a complete recovery. Conclusions: Strongyloides stercoralis often causes chronic and clinically asymptomatic infection; parasite number can increase substantially in the immunocompromised host, leading to hyperinfection, dissemination, and death if unrecognized. It is noteworthy to mention that screening for Strongyloides infection before the initiation of immunosuppressive therapy should be considered, particularly in endemic areas.

A 58-year-old male was admitted to the liver surgery ward of Peking Union Medical College Hospital as the result of recurrent cholangitis in the past six months. Preoperative abdominal CT and gastrointestinal radiography showed duodenal dilatation and reconstruction of gastrointestinal tract, which might be related to the laparotomy and hemostasis performed due to traffic accident 30 years ago. The operative method of that surgery might be the reason for the patient's choledocholithiasis and duodenal dilatation.
