Mechanism of interior noise generation in high-speed vehicle based on anti-noise operational transfer path analysis

Abstract: Owing to the continuous development of the automobile industry, increasingly stringent performance requirements for noise, vibration, and harshness of automobiles are being presented. Interior noise control in high-speed vehicles has not been adequately addressed, owing to the complex mechanism of noise generation. As simulations performed previously focused on vehicle wind noise and tyre noise cannot adequately predict the effect on passenger ear-side noise, these issues are investigated in this study. Their … Show more

“…However, in practical conditions, EVs face major noise issues. Earlier, in the IC engines due to the noise generated by the engine itself, all the other noise produced in the vehicle was rarely noticed [101]. This phenomenon is called the "masking effect".…”

“…There is research on the impact of noise on sleep and mental health [5][6][7], on the development of cognitive processes in children [8], and on the increase of risk of heart diseases [9,10] and diabetes [11]. Recent studies present contributions to identifying and optimizing vehicle interior noise [12][13][14][15][16][17], approaching different noise sources. The sound quality of the vehicle cabin is also essential for various in-vehicle applications, such as multimedia [18][19][20], security [21][22][23], assistive [24][25][26], and autonomous vehicles [27,28].…”
