Measurement of the Absolute Branching Fraction forΛc+Λe+νe

Abstract: We report the first measurement of the absolute branching fraction for Λ + c → Λe + νe. This measurement is based on 567 pb −1 of e + e − annihilation data produced at √ s = 4.599 GeV, 116 which is just above the Λ + cΛ − c threshold. The data were collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage rings. The branching fraction is determined to be B(Λ + c → Λe + νe) = 118(3.63±0.38(stat)±0.20(syst))%, representing a significant improvement in precision over the current indirect determination. As the bran… Show more

“…Since then the precision of other Λ + c branching fractions has improved due to measurements based on threshold data performed by BESIII [531]. BESIII also reported the first measurement of the branching fraction for the semileptonic decay Λ + c → Λe + ν e [1272]. Here we present a global fit for branching fractions of Cabbibo-favored Λ + c decays, taking into account all relevant experimental measurements and their correlations.…”

“…Last year the BESIII Collaboration [4] reported the first absolute measurement of the branching fraction of the semileptonic Λ + c → Λe + ν e process which is considerably more precise than previous values [5]. The branching fraction was found to be Br(Λ + c → Λe + ν e ) = (3.63 ± 0.38 ± 0.20)% [4]. Later BESIII provided measurements for twelve Λ + c decay modes, including the branching fraction for Λ + c → pK − π + decay with the value (5.84±0.27±0.23)% [6].…”
