Serial animasi Upin dan Ipin memberi dampak yang luas biasa bagi masyarakat Malaysia-Indonesia. Salah satu tokoh yang berpengaruh di dalam serial animasi tersebut adalah Jarjit. Jarjit populer karena piawai berpantun ketika berkomunikasi dengan tokoh-tokoh lainnya. Dari fenomena tersebut, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji pesona pantun Jarjit dan relevansinya pada instrumen diplomasi budaya untuk memperkokoh hubungan Malaysia-Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan konten analisis melalui beberapa tahapan. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah kanal Youtube Les'Copauque sedangkan data penelitian adalah pantun Jarjit dari 45 episode Upin dan Ipin. Temuan penelitian ini adalah pantun Jarjit dalam serial animasi Upin dan Ipin memiliki pesona yang unik ditinjau dari ciri khas pantun Jarjit yang selalu berawal dari dua tiga sebagai sampiran pantunnya, Jarjit yang berasal dari etnis India, jenis pantun karmina, pantun Jarjit sebagai tradisi lisan anak, dan pantun Jarjit sebagai representasi multikulturalisme. Berdasarkan pesona pantun Jarjit tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa pantun Jarjit merupakan instrumen diplomasi budaya yang dapat memperkokoh hubungan Malaysia-Indonesia. The arrival of a large number of immigrants made France feel such a huge impact, one of which is the presence of a multicultural situation in French society. One portrait of multiculturalism that deserves the spotlight is football. This study aims to determine the cultural diversity in French society and how multiculturalism is represented in French football. The research method in this research is descriptive qualitative. To analyze this phenomenon, researchers used the Concept of Multicultural and Cross-Cultural Communication. The results of this study stated that in the field of football, multiculturalism can be said to be a gift, because with the presence of many immigrants, France won a lot of glory on the European and World soccer stage. However, on the other hand, the arrival of Multiculturalism in France, faced many challenges and problems in it. The impact caused by multiculturalism is not a small impact, from the existence of crime and terrorism, to the problems present in society such as Islamophobia, xenophobia, anti-semitism and so forth.

This paper aims to compare two animated series and critically look at the story elements which represent the plurality of the society. Recent studies commonly pointed out that Upin-Ipin (UI) and Adit-Sopo-Jarwo (ASJ) describe the genuine culture of the Malay-Indonesian archipelago, which is multiculturalism. Most scholars see cultural diversity in these animations as a fact. However, the study on reading a plurality of cultures as a value rather than a fact is rarely conducted. This study aims to analyze the works of two countries, Malaysia’s Les’ Copaque and Indonesia’s MD Animation, to demonstrate the inadequate category of cultural diversity as a ‘fact.’ Parekh’s theory of multiculturalism makes way to map and understand the plurality of society the series represent. At the same time, the cultural diversity presented in the series must be understood as a postcolonial pluralism landscape. By understanding the multicultural situation as postcolonial pluralism, this study concluded that first, multiculturalism in UI and ASJ performs cultural traces that derive from the country’s history, including colonialism. Second, multiculturalism in UI and ASJ is thick with ethnoreligious pluralism problem as a form of cultural penetration by European colonial, which is still apparent.
