“…The preparing procedure of the (Tb 0.997 Ce 0.003 ) 3 Al 5 O 12 (Ce-TAG) transparent ceramic samples was almost the same as that of the sample Y1 and Y2 except for sintering holding temperatures (1650 C and 1670 C) and holding time (18 h). The two obtained Ce-TAG transparent ceramic samples were named as S1 and S2, respectively.…”

“…1,2 A high Verdet constant, size scalability, a high laserinduced-damage threshold, and a high thermal conductivity are required for such material for high power laser applications. Terbium aluminum garnet (Tb 3 Al 5 O 12 (TAG)) single crystal is an excellent magneto-optical material with good transmittance in the 500-1500-nm region, 3,4 high thermal conductivity, and higher Verdet constant than the most commonly used terbium gallium garnet (Tb 3 Ga 5 O 12 (TGG)) single crystal. 5,6 All the above merits make TAG potentially useful for the visible and near-infrared applications.…”

“…Today, the most commonly used Faraday magneto-optical material in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) regions is the terbium gallium garnet (Tb 3 Ga 5 O 12 , TGG) single crystal [1,2] In fact, the terbium aluminum garnet (Tb 3 Al 5 O 12 , TAG) single crystal is much better choice for its large Verdet constant. [3,4] . However, the growth of TAG single crystals from the melt is extremely difficult because of the incongruent melting nature of TAG and its unstable phase [5] .…”
