“…4,24 This appearance corresponds to the reported appearance of cat scratch disease on MRI, with mixed enhancing solid and fluid components (Figures 2 and 3). 10 The other significant finding of a hyperchoic hilum seen in cat scratch disease was not unexpected; however, it was surprising that no other causes of an epitrochlear mass showed this finding, even the cases of lymph node hyperplasia.…”

“…Although the appearance of such lymph node lesions on MRI has been described, the sonographic features of cat scratch disease have not been fully evaluated. 10,12 Reported sonographic features of involved regional lymph nodes in cat scratch disease without suppuration include a hypoechoic mass with or without increased posterior through-transmission. 12 Although the lymph nodes in our patients with cat scratch disease were also commonly hypoechoic (80%), those in patients with other causes of epitrochlear masses were also commonly hypoechoic (82%).…”

“…Ultrasonography and/or CT examination give a better description of enlarged lymph nodes and may disclose the infrequent granulomatous involvement of visceral organs [1][2][3]. Diagnostic imaging may also give some help in the differential diagnosis of the most common localization of lymphadenopathy (that involving epitrochlear region); a recent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study has allowed the differential diagnosis of lymphadenopathy at this site, which was mainly caused by B. henselae regional infection alone [17].…”

“…Though epitrochlear lymph nodes may be enlarged as a part of generalized lymphadenopathy, isolated enlargement of epitrochlear lymph nodes is rarely seen. Cat scratch disease [3], leprosy [4], leishmaniasis [5,6] and tuberculosis [7] are a few reported benign causes of isolated epitrochlear lymph node enlargement; malignant causes include lymphoma and malignant melanoma. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of enlargement of mid-arm lymph nodes along with epitrochlear lymph nodes caused by bancroftian filariasis, a benign disease.…”
