“…The BER tests were not performed as 2R regenerators such the one presented can be adequate to maintain signal quality over short and medium distances, where noise and distortion are small. For long distances applications, the jitter accumulation requires a 3R regeneration with clock recovery [20], and BER tests are strictly necessary.…”

“…(3) For the practical optical fiber, Therefore, (3) can be written as: (4) Due to variations in refractive index of the fiber there is lack of phase between frequencies and 3 . Therefore, the third term of (4) can be neglected due to this phase mismatch.…”

“…This mechanism can process high speed signal with less power consumption. In last two decades, a number of all optical signal regeneration schemes have been reported [1][2][3][4].…”

“…All-optical reamplification, reshaping, and retiming (3R) regeneration can be achieved using non-linear optical gates, among other options [1,2]. A non-linear optical gate of a 3R regenerator is a three-port gate, where one port is fed by a decision signal, another port by a clock signal obtained from a clock recovery device (CRD), and the regenerated signal is obtained in the third port.…”
