LncRNA H19 Suppresses Osteosarcomagenesis by Regulating snoRNAs and DNA Repair Protein Complexes

Abstract: Osteosarcoma is one of the most frequent common primary malignant tumors in childhood and adolescence. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been reported to regulate the initiation and progression of tumors. However, the exact molecular mechanisms involving lncRNA in osteosarcomagenesis remain largely unknown. Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a familial cancer syndrome caused by germline p53 mutation. We investigated the tumor suppressor function of lncRNA H19 in LFS-associated osteosarcoma. Analyzing H19-induced … Show more

“…The coordination of lncRNA and protein has been proven to be involved in the pathological and physiological processes of mammals [ 6 8 ]. Increased CREB protein in diabetic nephropathy induces renal inflammation and ruins podocytes via regulating lncRNA DLX6-AS1 [ 6 ].…”

“…In addition to changes in protein expression, DNA damage was induced by UVB (38,39). LncRNA H19 was reportedly used to treat age-related cataract by repairing ROS-induced DNA damage in human lens epithelial cells (40). To detect the effects of lncRNA H19 on UVBinduced DNA damage, the comet assay was performed to compare the DNA-protective effects of NC-Exo and H19-Exo.…”

“…The tumor-suppressive effect of lncRNA H19 was verified in vitro and in vivo . Xu et al (2020) infected U2OS cells with a virus containing H19, and H19-bound protein complexes were identified by mass spectrometry. Wiki pathway and GO_BP analyses showed that these putative H19-associated protein complexes mainly functioned in DNA damage response, DNA repair, and the cell cycle.…”
