In 1990 and 1991, the Revista Iberoamericana published two special issues devoted to Cuban literature. The first one, a double issue, covered all genres in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and included two panoramic articles on the novel of the Cuban Revolution as well as individual studies on writers better known within Cuba than abroad: Jose
