It was aimed to determine the effect of ensiling by adding Oregano pulp at different rates to the meadow grass on the physical quality properties of silages, silage fermentation and aerobic stability. In the study, dry oregano pulp at the rate of 3% (OP3) to 5% (OP5) by weight basis and without additives (control) was added to the first harvested of meadow grass in 2021 and it was ensiled as 3 groups. A total of 18 silage samples, 6 for each group, were left for fermentation in 1 liter glass jars for 60 days. Addition of oregano pulp in two different ratios decreased the DM content of silages compared to the control group (p<0.05). Control and silage groups with added oregano pulp were obtained in 2nd and 3rd roughage quality class, and their relative feed values were between 101.06 and 106.55. As a result of the physical properties of the silages, silages without additives were obtained as "satisfactory", while "good" quality silages were obtained from the groups with 3% and 5% oregano pulp. pH levels of silages were obtained between 4.37-4.89. The LA concentrates of the silage decreased significantly with the addition of oregano pulp, while the AA and BA levels of the silages were also decreased (p<0.001). As the ratio of oregano pulp increased from 3% to 5%, it was observed that the aerobic stability of the silages increased compared to the control group. As a result, it was concluded that oregano pulp can be evaluated as a silage additive.

Reducing Sleep Disturbance by Using Slow Deep Breathing and Dhikr in Cancer Patients During Chemotherapy

This study aims to investigate the effects of slow deep breathing (SDP) and dhikr on sleep disturbance in cancer patients during chemotherapy. This study used a Quasi-experiment design. A total of 44 cancer patients experiencing chemotherapy who met the inclusion criteria were divided into 2 groups of 22 patients. The treatment group practiced SDB and dhikr, while the control group practiced normal breathing. This intervention was performed for 30 minutes and repeated for 3 cycles of chemotherapy. Furthermore, sleep disturbance is measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index sheet. The data is analyzed using the Paired t-test, independent t-test, and Chi-square test with a significance limit of p <0.05. The result after 3 treatment cycles, sleep disturbances decreased in the treatment group from 7.64 ± 2.19 to 6.73 ± 1.78 or decreased by 0.91 ± 1.54, but in the control group, there was an increase from 5.00 ± 1 .90 to 5.18 ± 1.99 or an increase of 0.18 ± 0.85. The analysis results of SDP and dhikr effect on sleep disturbance in cancer patients during chemotherapy is significant (p=0.010). This study concludes SDB, and Dhikr can reduce sleep disturbance in cancer patients during chemotherapy.

Bu araştırmada, taze yoncaya %5 ve %10 oranında elma katılarak yapılan yonca silajının kalite parametreleri değerlendirildi. Bu amaçla, % 5 oranında buğday samanı ilavesiyle kuru maddesi artırılan yoncaya iki farklı düzeyde Altın çekirdek elması ilave edilerek laboratuvar siloları hazırlandı. Kontrol grubu ve deneme grupları 10 tekerrürden oluşturuldu. 1 litrelik kavanozlarda hazırlanan silajlar 60 gün sonra açıldı. Silaj numunelerinde fiziksel ve kimyasal analizler yapıldı. Koku, dış görünüş ve renk değerlendirmesinde bütün silajlar “Orta kalite” olarak puan aldı.Yonca silajına elma ilavesinin kuru madde (KM), ham kül (HK), ham protein (HP), asit deterjan lif (ADF) ve nötral deterjan lif (NDF) içeriğine etkisinin kontrol grubuna kıyasla istatistiksel olarak önemli olmadığı tespit edildi. Silajların pH değerlerinin 5,46 - 5,72 arasında olduğu, ancak gruplar arasında önemli bir farklılık olmadığı tespit edildi. Silajlarda laktik asit (LA) düzeyinin %10 elma katkısı ile önemli derecede yükseldiği, asetik asit (AA) ve propiyonik asit (PA) düzeyinin önemli derecede düştüğü belirlendi( P
