La famine manori au Burundi 1943-1944

Abstract

The Burundi knew his last famine in 1943-1944. Although she is marked by the biggest contradictions because the oral sources are not to be confirmed with the written date, this calamity has impregnated as much the collective memory as the colonial rulers. The reasons should be analysed in the natural calamities, the colonial power, the economic warfare after 1942, and the ethnicity behaviours in the society of Burundi.
