This study investigated two syntactic aspects of Balinese proverbs, namely sentence types and sentence functions. Descriptive qualitative method was applied in this study. The data were obtained from a Balinese proverbs book entitled Paribasa Bali by Ginarsa (2009), and analyzed based on Mac Coinnigh’s framework (2015). The results revealed that a number of Balinese proverbs have simple sentence type, while few of which have complex, compound, and compound-complex sentence type. Additionally, not all Balinese proverbs can be considered as a sentence, since some of which appear in the form of incomplete sentence and dependent clause. Meanwhile, in terms of sentence functions, the most common form among Balinese proverbs is declarative/indicative function, followed by some interrogatives, imperatives, and few combinations of two sentence functions. These findings indicate that Balinese people are more likely to use simple sentence and declarative/indicative function when it comes to passing proverbs in everyday context. However, it is also implied that Balinese people have the tendency to employ various types and functions of proverbs for specific purposes, such as performance and religious purposes.

Bali is an island that has many coastal areas, one of which is Kedonganan and there is a fish market that is quite famous among the surrounding population and the tourists. This study aims to re-design the Fish Market with an eco-cultural approach. This design approach considers the continuation of nature and also local traditional Balinese Architecture. However, there are several values in Hinduism that contradict the values of the Islamic religion. The values of the Islamic integration argument are used to examine aspects adapted to the artha wantilan concept based on the characteristics of Bale Wantilan so that its application in the design of the fish market still contains elements of Balinese architecture and remains integrated with Islamic values. The used method is descriptive qualitative, by collecting the literature review, examining several aspects related to the object of research, and applying the results of the study in object design. So that the results of this study can know the shape of the roof, building body and foot of the building, and ornaments that are applied and have been adapted to the needs of the fish market building and also integrated Islamic values.

This research starts from the existence of a gap between reality (dassein) and idealism (dassolen) that so far the position of the traditional village chief has always been occupied by men, not a single woman has held this position, even though ideally women can also become traditional village chiefs because there is no prohibition for women to do so. The theories used in the theoretical basis for this research are deconstruction theory, intersectionality theory, and subaltern theory. The research method used is a qualitative research method, with observation and interview techniques used in data collection. Data analysis was carried out deconstructively. The results of the study indicate that the strong dominance of the masculine in the leadership of the Buduk Traditional Village is based on or motivated by three main things: (1) various political ideologies that support patriarchal culture, (2) the interest to maintain the power of men, (3) the practice of giving meaning to women. Women and men in the context of traditional villages which show various meanings. These various meanings essentially indicate efforts to legitimize men's power and women's subordination, accompanied by co-optation and manipulation efforts to realize the legitimacy of men's power and women's subordination in traditional village life.
