“…Recently, we studied the constituents of this plant and provided the characterization of a new acyl flavonol diglycoside, kaempferol 3-O-[2¢¢-O-(E-6¢¢¢-O-feruloyl)-b-D-glucopyranosyl]-b-D-galactopyranoside (9), together with quercetin, quercetin 3-O-glucopyranoside, quercetin 3-O-sambubioside (7), and quercetin 3-O-sophoroside (8). In addition, some known compounds including b-sitosterol, b-sitosteryl glucoside, iridoid V 3 (1), an artificial product of asperuloside (2) (3), asperuloside (2), asperulosidic acid methyl ester (3), (E)-6-O-p-methoxycinnamoylscandoside methyl ester (4), (E)-6-O-feruloylscandoside methyl ester (5) and (E)-6-Ocoumaroylscandoside methyl ester (6) (4 ± 6) were also obtained. Superoxide (´O 2 ± ) and other reactive oxygen species (ROS) are involved in many pathological processes such as some inflammatory diseases, hepatitis, ageing, cancer, etc (7).…”
