Invitro Antidiabetic Activities of Agar, Agarosa, and Agaropectin from Gracilaria gigas Seaweed

Abstract: Rumput laut dalam beberapa jenis dilaporkan mempunyai aktivitas antidiabet secara in vivo maupun secara in vitro, namun aktivitas antidiabet fraksi-fraksi polisakarida dari rumput laut belum banyak dilaporkan. Show more

“…The in vitro antidiabetic test results showed a difference in inhibition between the nests of A. mellifera and the nests of A. dorsata Binghami against the α-glucosidase enzyme. Differences in the inhibition of α-glucosidase enzymes indicate differences in the antidiabetic activity of each extract (Hardoko et al, 2015). The IC50 value indicates that the lower the value, the higher the potential.…”

“…Preliminary test and inhibition of the enzyme α-glucosidase is the hydrolysis of the enzyme against p-nitrophenyl-α-D-glucopyranoside to p-nitrophenol which gives a yellow color 10 . The enzyme inhibitory activity test was carried out by spectropotometry method at a wavelength of 410 nm.…”
