This study aimed to describe the relationships between leisure boredom, leisure satisfaction, and smartphone addictions among university students. The study sample consisted of 258 participants, 143 males and 115 females, studying at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Sports Sciences. The participants were selected using the purposeful sampling method. Data collection tools involved a personal information form, the "Leisure Boredom Scale (LBS)", the "Leisure Satisfaction Scale (LSS)" and "Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV)". Independent t-Test results revealed a significant difference in SAS-SV by gender. The MANOVA results indicated a significant difference between the "Satisfaction" sub-dimension of LBS and the "Educational," "Social," "Physical," and "Relaxation" sub-dimensions of LSS by gender. A significant difference was found between LBS's "Satisfaction" sub-dimension and all sub-dimensions of LSS by income status. According to the ANOVA results, there was no significant relationship between the SAS-SV scores by income status of the participants. Besides, there was a negative and low-level correlation between age and the "Satisfaction" sub-dimension of LBS, the "Physical" and "Relaxation" sub-dimensions of LSS and SAS-SV. There was a negative and low correlation between "Boredom" of LBS and "Psychological," "Social," and "Relaxation" sub-dimensions of LSS, and there was a positive and low correlation between LBS and SAS-SV. Similarly, a positive and low-level relationship was determined between all sub-dimensions of LSS and SAS-SV. In this sense, it was concluded that the LBS, LSS, and SAS-SV scores differed according to the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants. As leisure boredom increased, leisure satisfaction decreased, and smartphone addiction increased. It was also found that as leisure satisfaction improved, smartphone addiction increased.

A pandemia da Covid-19 provocou intensas alterações no estilo de vida da população mundial e, na população académica, ou seja, estudantes, professores e funcionários administrativos, este fenómeno foi agravado pela necessidade de modificação do processo de trabalho e pela falta de políticas públicas de promoção da saúde. Identificar alterações no estilo de vida autorreferidas por uma comunidade acadêmica em decorrência do ensino remoto durante o período de isolamento da Covid-19. Estudo transversal, quantitativo, de base populacional, com amostra intencional. A coleta de dados ocorreu online entre maio e dezembro de 2021 em uma universidade no Brasil. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio de estatística descritiva simples. Foram respeitados os requisitos previstos nas disposições legais em vigor. A coleta de dados resultou em uma amostra de 2.274 respostas. A piora da autopercepção foi considerável nos seguintes aspectos: Qualidade do sono, horas diárias de uso do smartphone e assistindo televisão, frequência de atividade física, disposição, comportamento nutricional, autoestima e interação com familiares e amigos. Ainda é cedo para prever os danos causados pela pandemia, porém é esperado um aumento dos transtornos mentais comuns e das doenças crônicas. Há uma necessidade urgente de realizar intervenções para recuperação física e mental, pois estas se tornaram problemas de saúde pública. Portanto, há necessidade de criação e implementação de políticas públicas e institucionais voltadas à promoção da saúde.

This study aims to determine the extent to which students can use smartphones as ICT literacy media and learning resources. This is due to the development of increasingly advanced technology that requires the nation's generation to be able to face the challenges of the era, one of which is being able to use technologies, especially smartphones, for positive things, particularly in ICT literacy and as learning resources. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results of the study show that smartphones can be used as ICT literacy media and learning resources for college students. Also, students have been able to carry out ICT literacy well as evidenced by the use of existing applications on smartphones to search, obtain, and manage information, which later on this information can also be a source of learning. On the other hand, from the use of smartphones as learning and literacy media, there are also negative impacts, such as addiction and dependence on smartphones, the amount of negative content and fake news that can be found online. The solution that can be used to overcome this is the presence of self-control tools or high selfawareness from the students themselves.
