This edited collection has analysed the necessity for both legal and social change with regard to regulation of same-sex relationships and rainbow families, the status of civil partnership as a concept and the lived reality of equality for LGBTQ+ persons. The current treatment of LGBTQ+ persons and same-sex couples by the Council of Europe, the European Union and further internationally has been examined. Whilst same-sex marriage is legal in 28 jurisdictions worldwide, other states provide varying degree of civil partnership rights and still others refuse to recognise same-sex couples' rights or even criminalise same-sex relationships. The competing views of critically analytical rights based theorists and those developing queer and feminist theory, represented in this edited collection, expose that even for those jurisdictions who have legalised same-sex marriage, still further and continuous work needs to be done. Legal and social change need to work together on an evolving basis over time in order to contribute to future development. Incrementalism recommends a model of 'small change' but has been critiqued throughout this book.Analysis This book has involved a series of inter-locking themes, including (Part One) the role of the ECtHR and the EU in relation to the treatment of same-sex couples' relationships, (Part Two) differing paths towards legalisation of same-sex marriage, (Part Three) rainbow families, (Part Four) the importance of civil partnership pin an era of same-sex marriage (Part Five) the heteronormative underpinnings of same-sex marriage and (Part Six) the interaction between social change and legal change. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki perbedaan antara homoseksual dan transgender dalam hal jenis kelamin dan domisili. Penelitian ini merupakan studi banding di Sumatera yang diperoleh melalui random sampling. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 140 responden, terdiri dari 44 laki-laki dan 96 perempuan yang tersebar di berbagai wilayah mulai dari desa sampai dengan kota. Data dikumpulkan melalui Inventarisasi Paparan Homoseksualitas dan Transgender (IHTE ) menggunakan 4 point dengan model skala Likert dengan pilihan jawaban selalu sampai tidak pernah. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dan Anova dengan model Rasch dengan bantuan WINSTEPS Versi 4.7.0.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden berada pada logit negatif 0,5 artinya responden masih dalam kategori aman, namun perlu diberikan treatment kepada wanita yang berdomisili di kota tersebut untuk mencegah perilaku seksual yang menyimpang. Selain itu, ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara laki-laki dan perempuan homoseksual dan transgender, perempuan lebih cenderung melakukan perilaku seksual menyimpang dibandingkan laki-laki. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh para pekerja sosial (konselor, psikolog, psikiater dan lainnya) untuk lebih fokus pada pencegahan homoseksual dan transgender.

The objective of this study is to explore the inclusiveness of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) adolescents in junior high school from the perspective of LGBTQ adolescents in Sweden. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 GBTQ adolescents, aged 16 to 19. The study was approved by the Swedish Ethical Review Authority (Dnr: 2019-03816). A Braun and Clark inspired thematic analysis was performed through a theoretical lens inspired by Berger and Luckmann. The analysis resulted in three themes: (a) a navigator among peers as friends and bullies, (b) adults in school supported inclusion in and exclusion from the group of peers, and (c) non-heterosexuality and non-binary gender understanding as teaching projects in junior high school. In summary the LGBTQ adolescents face multiple challenges related to identity development in hetero- and cisnormative school environments, including adults and peers and their (re)actions. Inclusive and exclusive strategies exercised by the self, adults, and peers affect adolescents’ experiences of their school time. Initiatives to increase awareness and knowledge about the LGBTQ subject in school can lead to enhanced inclusion, but also to an enhanced sense of not belonging. Inclusive initiatives can contribute to enhanced inclusion or its opposite, motivating further research into LGBTQ adolescents’ experiences of junior high school from a relational perspective.
