“…However, no significant effect of iBC on blood BHBA was observed by others (Gordon et al 2017a;Gordon et al 2017b) in SCK treatment with a much lower dosage, whereas Rollin et al (2010) reported a significant reduction of blood BHBA concentration with similar dosage in multiparous dairy cows. Increased blood glucose concentration was reported by Chalmeh et al (2020), Furll et al (2010), Deniz et al (2009b) and Krdzalic and Curcic (1976) after iBC treatment at pre-, peri-and the postpartum period in dairy cow, but there are also studies in those no effect of iBC was observed on blood glucose (Tables 1, 2, 3). Thus, the effect of iBC on blood glucose concentration in transition cows can be multifactorial and needs to be studied in detail.…”

(Zhyla et al, 2015;Chalmeh et al, 2020).…”

“…Herein, insulin was not measured, but the assessment of insulin resistance via conventional methods can help better understand the function of this drug and its effects on metabolism. In a study by Chalmeh et al (2021), insulin resistance was lower in cows receiving higher doses of butaphosphan and cyanocobalamin than in other treatments and Ctrl groups and a similar study could be conducted to better evaluate the metabolic effects of butaphosphan and cyanocobalamin in sheep. In general, sheep at the end of pregnancy, especially those with more than one embryo, experience a negative energy balance, and their bodies utilise stored fat to compensate.…”

“…Improvements in the energy status of animals treated with these substances have been reported (Rollin et al, 2010). In addition, previous studies have revealed that this combination can be effective in reducing the occurrence of negative energy balance and insulin resistance in dairy cows (Chalmeh et al, 2021). However, it is not yet clear whether this form of phosphorus is biologically available to animals (Rollin et al, 2010).…”
