Interface crack problems for mode II of double dissimilar orthotropic composite materials

Abstract: The fracture problems near the interface crack tip for mode II of double dissimilar orthotropic composite materials are studied. The mechanical models of interface crack for mode II are given. By translating the governing equations into the generalized bi-harmonic equations, the stress functions containing two stress singularity exponents are derived with the help of a complex function method. Based on the boundary conditions, a system of non-homogeneous linear equations is found. Two real stress singularity e… Show more

“…Williams [1] analyzed the stress field of interface crack tip of isotropic bi-material and got that interface crack tip stress of mode I and mode II had oscillatory singularity at 1 i 2 r ε − + . Ting and Ma [2,3] found that interface crack tip stress of bi-material had the constant oscillatory singularity at = − + was considered by Li and Yang et al [4][5][6], in this case, there wasn't oscillatory behavior in the stress fields. As is shown in Yang et al [7], the constant singularity By constructing new stress functions with complex singularity exponents, the problem of interface crack tip for mode II of orthotropic bi-material is researched in this paper.…”

“…The principle of PT is based on the former by only considering heat conduction within the materials. The raw image acquired for defects located at deep regions are usually blurred due to the heat diffusion [ 10 , 11 ]. In this situation, image processing is expected to obtain high contrast images.…”
