Integrating the Electrical Vehicles in the Smart Grid through unbundled Smart Metering and multi-objective Virtual Power Plants

Abstract: This paper presents a solution for integrating Electrical Vehicles in the Smart Grid through unbundled Smart Metering and Virtual Power Plant technology dealing with multiple objectives. Within this frame, EV can benefit of costeffective energy during the charging period but can also provide multiple ancillary services to the network, by wisely using their storage capability and their flexibility in coupling to the grid. Simulation of an EV providing services under a multi-objective VPP is also presented, with… Show more

“…7 below. The algorithm based on 1 minute metrology related LPs is suited for the Unbundled Smart Meter architecture [4,5], having a metrology part which measures the 1 minute based energies and a separated business logic part which calculates the final f-P secondary control results. Such a meter architecture is currently in development in [8].…”

“…The network observability over a segment of aggregated consumers preserves privacy because now it is much more difficult to associate an action to a specific user. The solution implemented in Sibiu is in line with the level of minimum aggregation (more than 7-8) recommended in [8], regarding Data Handling, Data Safety, and Consumer Protection. Figure 5 illustrates, as an example, the load profile of an individual consumer for two days (blue and red curves) and an average (normalized) load profile on 30 consecutive days of the same consumer, which is achieved by averaging synchronous data (green curve).…”
