Integrated and Simultaneous Model of Power Expansion Planning with Distributed Generation

Abstract: This study proposes a model based on mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) for the integrated expansion planning of generation and transmission systems with the implementation of distributed generation (DG). Most DG planning takes place after generation and transmission planning has been conducted. This model can be used to include DG potential simultaneously with generation and transmission expansion. DG is modelled as a negative load therefore DG is treated as a non-dispatchable unit of power generation. T… Show more

“…Saat ini pembangkit listrik yang digunakan di Indonesia bahkan di dunia umumnya menggunakan pembangkit listrik berbahan bakar fosil, batu bara dan minyak bumi [5]. Telah diketahui juga bahwa bahan bakar fosil akan habis, salah satunya karena bertambahnya kendaaraan di Indonesia [6].…”

“…The wind turbine in Indonesia has become increasingly popular owing to the fact that the location has wind potential. Indonesia is located in a tropical climate area, with moderate wind potential at speeds ranging from 3 m/s to 15 m/s [18]. Wind-turbine systems are commonly used for smaller scales [19].…”

“…A mixed energy supply for electrical power generation has been proposed with multi-objective sensitivity analyses [12]. Moreover, RES as distributed generation has been included in the integrated planning of electrical power systems as a single objective [13] and multi-objective [14] model. The reliability of RES in electrical power systems has been evaluated for wind technology integration [15].…”
