Initial height and nitrogen fertilization on deferred signalgrass

Abstract: ABSTRACT:Thus study was conducted with the objective of evaluating production and forage characteristics of Signalgrass (Brachiaria decumbens cv. Basilisk) deferred at different initial heights and nitrogen doses. Three initial sward heights (low -10 cm, medium -20 cm and high -30 cm), three nitrogen doses (40, 80 and 120 kg/ha) and a control treatment, of no fertilization were evaluated. The experimental design utilized was of completely randomized blocks with three replications, in a subdivided-plot arrangem… Show more

“…The studied was conduced in Farm Savanna, in municipality Waterfall Golden, in humidity medium 25% and conventional pasture the light interception 90%, medium temperature 37°C, medium humidity 24% period registered at 11:00 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. Randomized statistical, were two appliances of fertilizers, divided in two times 66% and 34%, distribution to cased, a 35 days. The nitrogen was applied on end of each grazed; 2 kg per paddock or equivalent 100 kg of N ha -1 year -1 Silva et al (2015) and subjected at adaptation of each grazed. Moreover, drought periods.…”

“…Deferment management strategies can influence the forage mass, chemical composition, and structural characteristics of pastures, which affects animal production [3][4][5]. Nitrogen fertilization before pasture deferment can improve the forage mass and its chemical composition.…”
