Iniciação científica no Brasil e nos cursos de medicina

Abstract: InTRODuçãOA modernidade transformou conhecimento em poder. As nações mais ricas e influentes do planeta têm, no avanço e independência tecnológica, fatores primordiais para seu crescimento. No Brasil, a ideia de que o desenvolvimento do país está ligado à produção científica também é aceita. E vem sendo ampliada.A Profª Dra. “…Stimulating undergraduate research was only implemented in Brazil in 1988 and despite the advances in recent decades, the Brazilian scientific production faces obstacles regarding the quality of the studies produced, something directly related to the scarcity of resources. (59) Additionally, when the object of analysis is a theme like HDV infection, aspects related to the quality of care and to the rational use of resources, both in the public and private sectors, end up exerting pressure on health professionals who lack contextualized scientific evidence for better performance practices. (60) The production of scientific evidence, such as meta-analytic reviews or randomized clinical trials, does not exclude the importance of descriptive studies and the value of personal experiences, but evidences to care for patients subject to the evolution to severe conditions, such as those infected with HDV, are of fundamental importance to make the best clinical decisions.…”

“…Thus, it is worrying to think that one third of the fellows in the area of psychology does not have a direct follow-up by the research professor, because the quality control of this supervision escapes from the development agency. In addition, the dialogic relationship advisor-advisee is crucial for the learning based on action-reflection (Simão, 1996) once it is a direct relationship (student-centered model), which enables the exchange of experiences and values (Tenório & Beraldi, 2010). It is still a way to mediate the entry of the SI student in the selected academic world, being indispensable for the structuring of academic relations and for the student to feel part of this group (Oliveira, Araújo & Bianchetti, 2014).…”

“…Tenório et al (2010) points as main difficulties of scientific initiation: the lack of institutional incentive; low interest in learning research methods by students and qualified teachers willing guide students. 1 Therefore, there is a decrease in number of researchers. It is known that the best way to increase researchers number resides in scientific practice promotion during graduation.…”

“…It is known that the best way to increase researchers number resides in scientific practice promotion during graduation. 1 In Germany, medical students have to write a research thesis to acquire the title of medical doctor. 2 Cursiefen et al (1998) conducted research aimed at evaluating a contribution of German medical students in Medline database.…”
